Stories of financial independence, saving money and early retirement
Wow, that was an insanely busy and even crazy week! Today we’re heading up North to pick up our 1/4 pasture-raised cow that should keep us beefed-up for another year. Tomorrow is my first Father’s Day. (Never thought I’d be saying that!) What’s everyone else got going on this weekend?
Here is some of the best Pretirement Fun I read last week:
- Jacob over at Cash Cow Couple took a hard look at the real Cost of Addiction
- Cash Rebel analyzed one of my favorite topics: Electric Vehicles
- Michelle at Making Sense of Cents took on the classic question of Emergency Fund or Pay off Debt?
- Mrs. 1500 shared the story of losing $13,000 — for the best, possible reason: freedom!
- Neal at Wealth Pilgrim asked How Do You Get Into Debt and found nine compelling answers.
Have a great weekend, everyone!
Thanks so much for the mention! Have a great weekend.

My pleasure, Michelle! You too!
My parents just bought 1/2 of a cow and we made burgers this past weekend out of the meat. It was really good, so I’m sure you’ll enjoy yours as well!

We had our first steaks last night. Delicious!
I bet you’re going to love your cow. We bought 1/4 of a cow last year and really liked it. The taste took a little getting used to, but it was great overall. That’s also not to mention the fact that it wasn’t pumped full of crap along the way. Happy belated Father’s Day.

Yeah, this is our second year doing it and we loved it. The one thing we were worried about was whether it would taste gamey compared to the grocery store (feed finished) beef. We haven’t noticed that at all. In fact it tastes just more “beefy” and less tasteless than what you get at the store. But definitely no gamey taste like you get with lamb sometimes.
For some reason, we don’t get notifications of most pingbacks on our site. It’s really making me mad. Thanks for the mention, Nick!
The 1/4 or 1/2 cow is a great deal compared to buying little bits at a time. Well done you money master!

My pleasure, my friend! I’ve got a post on our cow purchase coming up. Just need to confirm a couple facts before it goes live. Weird about the pingback thing. That is frustrating!
Electric Vehicles, costs of addiction, and how to get into debt all of these sound great.
